Hi! I love TuxGuitar! It's a great program!
But there's two things i miss:
1. I want to be able to write notes. Currently I can only write tablature.
2. In GuitarPro you can have "double voices" in one guitar. Not shure how to say it. I want to play both bass and melody and then I need to set different note values at the same time. Hope you understand.
And also. It would be great if I could choose what to print; notes and tablature, only notes, and only tablature.
I hope something will be done! I love this program! :D

well this is already planned to a second version of tuxguitar, so it'll not be included at 1.0 version.

this change is planned to next release, but not all equal,
the plan is:
show tab: always
show score: optional
measure range: optional, (to get a song segment)

Hi,
there are 2 features what i have planned to a second version:
1_ a basic editor:
now tuxguitar run with a Tablature editor.. the plan is replace for a abstract editor, who can show other editors as plugin.. (tablature, score, matrix...)
well.. this point is needed to hide tablature.. but it need be writen from 1.1. to get a 2.0 stable.
2_ multivoice:
i don't like need to select a voice to edit..
my idea is enter a note with a duration.. and have 1, 2 or 10 voices..
but i'm not sure how i can draw this in a tablature (yes in a score)
one option is don't show duration at tablature..
so for this reason it is not implemented..
for other way, java is not a fatest language.. so i don't know how can affect this feature in the app.
So.. for the moment i want to finish the planned version without bugs..
and then i will work in the 2.0

I think a 1.0 should have 100% compatibility with Guitar Pro 4/5 and it's playing(like harmonics, tapping, hammer on ...) and editing features :D
(I know that it doesn't fit into that topic but do you have an idea why my TuxGuitar doesn't save the viewing options?)

the versions are steps, but the final work take the same time.
i want have some versions to choice, and not only one.. because not all people like the same, or not all have a fast machine..
for other way.. all say this is a gp clone.. its false, its only a single tablature editor with support to load gp files...
the only reason i do this is because gp3,gp4 and gp5 files are shared..
i think rosegarden is much better than GuitarPro.. but it doesn't have files
i don;t know if you understand me :p my english is no good...
for other way, remember tuxguitar has only 10 months of development in a version 0, and GP is in a version 5 .. if you see GP3, it don't have a "undo" action..

well this is not implemented yet the autosave .. do you make the changes at the config dialog ?
you can take a look to your config file:
/home/xxxx/.tuxguitar/config.properties (if you are in linux)
/Document and Settings/xxxx/.tuxguitar/config.properties (if you are in win)
in this file you have the options:

yay with the configuration dialog it works well :)
I don't want TuxGuitar to be a GP clone ... but because i mostly tapping guitar lines with TuxGuitar it would be good to have these play techniques like Taping, Natural/artifical harmonics and so on :)
