Hi, I just upgraded from apt tuxguitar 1.0. The older version ran very well, but the new one has no sound. I remember that the old one used a java soundbank and the alsa plugin, in this one I could select only a "tuxguitar sequencer" and there is not java soundbank at all.
What happened?

Most probably you are running non-Sun Java. if you type "java -version" in console you will probably see that you have GCJ or IcedTea. Install Sun Java and make it default.

Or if you have Sun Java check in tuxguitar/plugins folder, you need tuxguitar-jsa.jar file...

That plugin is provided as separate deb named tuxguitar-jsa. Now everything runs, thank you.
