Subject Tuxguitar and firefox won't play sound together   Post Reply Post New Topic

Ok so I have an HP DV9000, and have Ubuntu 8. I installed tuxguitar, and after fiddling with the java sound api stuff, it works great. One problem. When I have tuxguitar open and I open firefox, to listen to a song, or check something, firefox has no sound. same thing with amarok. Also when I have firefox open first and I open tuxguitar, it give me the "can not find soundbank" error thing.

Any ideas?

Try download latest tuxguitar version, and install timidity.
then select it on Tools -> Preferences -> Sound: Midi Port

timidity

On "Sound" section of preferences there is a dropdown list called "MIDI Port"

after install timidity, a timidity port should be available on that list.
