Hi, do you maybe have the ubuntu package installed?
i ask you this, because ubuntu have an oldest (3.2) "swt" library on repositories, while GTK printer was implemented since swt-3.3.
if the answer is wes, i can only suggest you download a "generic" GNU/Linux package of tuxguitar what cames with SWT-3.4 included.
e.g: "GNU/Linux-x86 Binary Files"

Well, so you downloaded the ubuntu package.
that package was builded for ubuntu.. and it takes dependencies from ubuntu repository.
so that package don't include "swt".. it's using the swt-3.2 available on ubuntu. and that's why the printer don't works.

try download the package called: "GNU/Linux-x86 Binary Files"
extract it, go to the extracted folder and make 2 clicks to "tuxguitar"

That's your desition :)

Ubuntu package VS Generic GNU/Linux package

* On generic package, default dependencies are included. that can be an adventage, but it increase the download size.

* The ubuntu package is adjusted to Ubuntu issues.
you have a "menu launcher" avialable, and you have a /usr/bin shell script where you can just open a terminal and exec "tuxguitar"
while the generic package is only a "folder". you don't have menu launchers and that things.

so you are free to choice what want todo.
