Hello!
I have just installed the last version of TuxGuitar on Ubuntu 8.04.
I see that I cannot use TuxGuitar and either listen to a song on Rhythmbox or watch a video on Totem/VLC at the same time.
Is there any fix for this problem?

try install timidity.
then select a timidity port on "Tools -> Settings" "Sound"

Same problem : although I use alsa-oss, TuxGuitar won't work if rhythmbox is opened :(

Alsa or PulseAudio problem maybe? Because everything is working great together with oss4 on gentoo

Sorry for the late post but I use Java Sound API and launching tuxguitar with padsp tuxguitar works for me in Ubuntu 8.04 amd64, pulseaudio enabled.
