I tried to install TuxGuitar several times (including an older release) but it always gets caught up in a sun-java stage and won't go any further. Then I have to dpkg --configure -a for anything to work again. Is there any way to fix this problem?

There is no error message, it just never completes installing, and its always stuck on the sun-java stage.

I installed sun-java 6 manually using synaptic, and it worked, so I don't really know what was wrong with that.
I do get the unavailable soundbank error though. I tried what was suggested in the other thread but it didn't work.

maybe can be another problem.. if the doc page don't help. please try run tuxguitar under a "terminal" and paste here the error log when it happends.
