I've downloaded Tuxguitar and all available add-ons for ubuntu, but for some reason it's still saying my tabs can't be opened with that program. Is there another add-on I'm supposed to download that isn't on Ubuntu Downloader?

No, there are no extra addons to load files. all are included in "tuxguitar" package.
My question is what kind of files are you trying to open with the application, and how are you trying it ?
