I'm trying tuxguitar for the first time. I'm using a dual-core laptop freshly upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04, with the 64-bit Ubuntu .deb from http://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxguitar/files/TuxGuitar/tuxguitar-1.2-ubuntu-amd64.deb.
The problem I'm seeing is that the score view shows no note heads (except on grace notes). The scale lines, ledger lines, and stems are there, but no heads.
Am I missing a font or something? TuxGuitar doesn't show any error messages anywhere.

Solved.
Just execute this command:
echo "painter.force-os-defaults=true" >> ~/.tuxguitar-1.2/config.properties
It just appends the string "painter.force-os-defaults=true" to the file ~/.tuxguitar-1.2/config.properties.
