Is it supposed that timidity starts when PC boot on ubuntu.
So if you do "timidity -iA -Os"
i think you are openning a new port "129"
See on terminal after exec timidity command.
last line should show you something like:
Opening sequencer port: 129:0 129:1 129:2 129:3
Now about 128 port i readed about a lot of people what is having problems to run timidity under Ubuntu hardy, or Open Suse (not sure the version).
because "PulseAudio".
I don't know exactly sure what pulseAudio is for, but it have a lot of problems with MIDI synthisizers now.
the only solution i know, is configure "Alsa" instead of "Pulse Audio"
