I get the following error if I run tuxguitar:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/eclipse/swt/widgets/Layout
Can anybody help me?

Hi... this is because SWT is not at the classpath...
can you paste here the "tuxguitar" launcher file ???

I had the same error on kubuntu 07.10.
Installing libswt-java fixed it.

That's a real winner. Java is such quality software. No wonder Sun's stock is doing so well.

mmm, there are 2 libswt* at debian repositories.. and they install *.jar files in different paths
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/libs/libswt-gtk-3.2-java
jars at "/usr/share/java/"
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/devel/libswt3.2-gtk-java
jars at "/usr/lib/java/"
so, we'll fix that dependency problem.
for the moment you can install the tar.gz version, and edit the launcher script to set the correct swt paths

Tuxguitar doesn't work in Debian anymore.
