How can i delete a silence and modifie a measure ?

For instance : I have a measure with 4 eighth and then a silence. Next measure begins with a half.
I want to delete the silence so that the half comes to complete the 1st measure.

Is it possible ? How ?

I'm resuming this old post because I have similar problems. How can I delete a pause? or displace it to the end of the measure?
