Hi, I´m trying to write a piece for string quartett. Unfortunately I´m not able to write lower notes than a (above highest line in bass clef), although the cello ranges down to C (almost 2 octaves lower). I already changed the tuning to 4 strings and as low as possible, it didn´t help. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi Barbara,
I don't know much about cellos but you can write down at least 8 octaves in Tuxguitar.
The lowest note you can write is C nine ledger lines below the bass clef.
Under track properties (menu path /Track/Properties [this is the same menu that allows you to select a cello instrument sound]) you can set a 4 string instrument and give each string a starting (open) note value of anything from C0 (the lowest) to B9 (the highest).
