You must only make sure you have java installed. ( openjdk, sun's jdk, or gcj.. )

Then, go to download page, and try with the package named:
"GNU/Linux-x86 Binary Files" ( if you have 64 bit PC, so download the x86_64 version.. )

then go to where you downloaded the file, and uncompress it.
enter the extracted folder, and make 2 clicks to the "tuxguitar" file
