Subject Shifting an entire track   Post Reply Post New Topic

Hi, I'm aware that you can shift notes up/down a semitone at a time with Shift+Right Arrow/Left Arrow. But I have a tab that is tabbed 1/2 step down on all instruments, but is playable in standard tuning (no open notes) So I'd like to transcribe it to standard. Is there a way other than re-entering every note?

I hit the same problem once. There is no such function as far as I could search. But if you don't mind reviewing your tab afterwards, you can always export the original one as a MIDI file and use transposition during this process (File/Export/Export Midi -> transposing dialog : give it the number of half-tones you want the tab to be transposed). The start a new tab session, import you transposed MIDI file (File/Import/Import Midi) and review the tablature for correcting string/fret numbers as MIDI import process enforce its own string/fret numbering.
