Quick question....reading the site I see that it can Import PT 1.7 file, but can it write them also?

Just ran across this program, and it looks like one more piece of my Linux Music puzzle is solved for me.......

Hi..
for the moment there is no export option.. (and the .ptb import is not very stable)
the file format .ptb is very incompatible with tuxguitar... i'm not sure how to
write more than 2 traks and drum channels...

have the authors seen this parser? (is it useful?)
http://blog.allpowertabs.com/2007/06/java-php-power-tab-parsers-made-open.html

perhaps it could improve powertab support in tuxguitar... (for the record, i think that the powertabs 'appearance' and 'printing' are better than the tuxguitar/guitarpro...)

i would be extremly interested in tuxguitar, if it was fully compatibale with powertab.
- i know this is probably a pain in the neck
- power tab has limitations
- tux guitar hasnt been designed this way..

never the less, if tux guitar was as good as or better than powertab (ie support drum tracks)

since i moved to 'buntu i haven't bothered with tabs at all.
powertab was always one of the original reasons i stated for not moving... but now im happy to be windows free.

As of now the power tab import is pretty good, I've only been using it for a couple days and haven't run into any problems yet but I hope they also add support for exporting to power tab since the format is more widely used and known (so is guitar pro but it is shareware). Power tab is probably one the most used free formats for tabs out their and even though the software hasn't been updated for years, it still works great even on vista, although TuxGuitar is pretty close to power tab minus a couple features such as adding upstrokes/down strokes.

I seriouslly think that if you guys could totally support powertab i would consider permanatnley switching to linux. Because tabs are a big part of my computer usage, and alot of great tabs are in powertab format.
