Just started using TuxGuitar today, to write a song that's been in my head.
Firstly, this seems like a very nice piece of software. So far I've only used it to open/playback GuitarPro files from Ultimate Guitar to LEARN songs, but today I started writing my own.

Holy crap this is hard. Not because of the software, it's relatively intuitive, but because I have no idea what I'm doing!
Quarter notes, half notes, eighth notes - in the last few hours I've learned quite a bit!

I'm getting the hang of most of it, as I said it's fairly intuitive, except for the lyrics engine. I'm having trouble lining up the words with the score. I've got the lyrics on their own track, which works fairly well, until a word which is split along 2/3 notes comes along and then it-s quite annoying.
If you could make it so a hyphen would act like a space, but with a hyphen between the syllables, that'd be ideal.
Also, pressing return/enter skips two notes instead of one... Which makes formatting the lyrics dialogue horribly untidy.

Other than that, my niggles are usually due to me being an idiot :p (wondering why it won't let me put 5 eighth notes in a single 2/4 measure)

It'd be nice if the track's properties were displayable in normal view, not just exported/printed.

Also it'd be nice if we could have scores for different tracks in different colours. And quick mute tracks, possibly with a radio button at the bottom?

Overall this clearly has had a load of effort put into it, and is truly a commendable piece of software!
